Ecopark Kantun-Chi —“yellow stone mouth” in the Mayan language— is an eco park in the heart of the Riviera Maya, between Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen. It brings together crystal-clear cenotes, a cave and an underground river, jungle trails and a regional restaurant, Lol-Ha. Its certified local guides lead four experiences —Grutaventura, Gruta Travesía, Aguas Mágicas and 4 Travesías— that invite visitors to explore the karst phenomenon that shaped the peninsula.
To expand the brand into the digital world with a website that conveys the park’s sense of adventure and turns visitors’ curiosity into bookings.
To organize a large amount of content —four experiences, events, a restaurant, promotions, a blog and a careers page— in a trilingual site (Spanish, English and Portuguese) without losing the thrill of discovering a cenote. The site needed to explain the karst phenomenon simply, show prices and conditions clearly and lead users to book in just a few clicks.
We started with the architecture: we defined 12 main sections plus detail views for experiences, events and the blog, and validated them in low-fidelity wireframes before moving into visual design.
The homepage works as a journey. A cenote video opens with the invitation “Explore the Karst Phenomenon” and, as users scroll, a mosaic of photos and phrases narrates the descent: “Beneath your feet, a hidden river begins to reveal itself.” A carousel then helps visitors find their ideal experience, while two fixed side buttons —Bookings and Promotions— stay with them at all times.
Each experience has its own page with a gallery, prices by visitor type, what’s included, amenities with custom icons and clear rules, answering questions before booking.
The site’s identity draws on the Mayan worldview: an ornamental serpent frames the menu and headings, and each page closes with an element of the region —the ceiba tree, the melipona bee or the toh bird— along with its story. The palette takes its tones from the park: Strong Green from the jungle, Serpent Green, cenote Blue, limestone Beige and Serpent Brown; Poppins provides clear, friendly reading in every language.
